Strengthening archipelago vitality

A new Archipelago Act will be enacted in Finland, replacing legislation that is over 40 years old and taking into account growing seasonal residency alongside permanent residents. The act safeguards basic services and transport connections in the archipelago and requires authorities to take the special conditions of the archipelago into account in their decision-making.
