Facilitating youth mobility with Canada
Finland and Canada will introduce an agreement facilitating opportunities for young people to travel, work and complete traineeships in the other country. Under the arrangement, young people aged 18 to 35 can receive a temporary residence permit for up to one year.

Transferring training compensation to the state
The state will begin compensating units providing practical training places for the costs incurred from practical training included in universities of applied sciences degrees in health and social services. Universities of applied sciences will be exempted from paying compensation, which will improve the availability of training placements and the quality of supervision.

Internships in Finland for foreign-trained doctors
Persons who have graduated as doctors in an EU or EEA country will be able to complete the professional practical training required for their degree in Finland, regardless of the year they began their studies. Valvira (the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health) will grant them a restricted right to practise as a doctor under the direction and supervision of another doctor for the duration of the training.
