The combustion of meat and bone meal for energy will become easier, and feeding food waste to wild animals will be prohibited to prevent animal disease risks. At the same time, burying animal by-products will be restricted and non-compliance with supervision will be tackled through new administrative penalty payments.

Updating an international marine protection agreement
Finland will approve an international protocol and its amendments prohibiting the dumping and incineration of wastes and other matter at sea. At the same time, legislation concerning the exclusive economic zone will be supplemented with regard to carbon dioxide storage.
