Supervision of the EU deforestation regulation
A supervision and penalty system for the EU Deforestation Regulation will be introduced in Finland to prevent products causing deforestation from entering the market or being exported. The Finnish Food Authority will act as the principal supervisory authority, and substantial administrative penalty payments may be imposed for violations of the requirements.

Expanding Tiilikkajärvi national park
Tiilikkajärvi National Park will be expanded in the municipality of Rautavaara by approximately 2,441 hectares of state-owned land. National park conservation regulations will take effect in the area, improving nature conservation and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Strengthening biodiversity conservation
A new Nature Conservation Act will be enacted in Finland to enhance the protection of endangered species and natural habitat types and combat biodiversity loss. At the same time, provisions will be added to the act on voluntary ecological compensation and adaptation to climate change, among other things.
