Reforming compensation for predator damage
Damage caused by large carnivores to domestic animals, dogs, crops and other movable property will be compensated in full. At the same time, the increased additional compensation paid for exceptionally large reindeer damage will be abolished and reporting requirements for reindeer damage will be tightened.

More flexible land survey administration
Legislation concerning the National Land Survey of Finland will be simplified so that the agency can organise its operations and customer service points more independently than before. At the same time, the agency's external information technology services will be transferred to a new agency being established.

Establishing the Finnish Food Authority
The Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira and the Agency for Rural Affairs (Mavi) will be merged into a new Finnish Food Authority at the beginning of 2019. At the same time, sectoral information management tasks from the National Land Survey of Finland and the supervision of the use of plant protection products from Tukes will be brought together into the new authority.
