Enhancing maritime ship safety supervision
Legislation on the safety supervision of ships will be reformed to meet updated EU rules and international requirements. Authorities will receive clearer powers to inspect ships and new administrative means to address safety deficiencies.

Digitalising ship logbooks and incident reporting
Ships will be able to switch to keeping logbooks in electronic form, and outdated formalities, such as sealing logbooks, will be abolished. In addition, it will become mandatory to report ship incidents and accidents directly to the authorities in order to improve maritime safety.
