Nuclear decommissioning licences and safety requirements
A new licensing procedure for the decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities will be added to the Nuclear Energy Act. Requirements concerning nuclear safety, peer reviews, and licence holders' disclosure obligations will also be updated in line with EU regulation.

Clarifying pressure equipment regulation and supervision
The Pressure Equipment Act will be amended and clarified to facilitate practical application and the division of responsibilities between authorities. An explicit right will be laid down for the Finnish Defence Forces to maintain their own register of pressure equipment, and the rules on language requirements for equipment and inspection schedules will be made more flexible.

Reforming and clarifying pressure equipment regulation
The act governing pressure equipment will be reformed in Finland to align with European Union product regulation. The reform will clarify equipment safety requirements as well as the obligations of manufacturers and importers.

Harmonising rules for product inspection bodies
Rules on inspection and assessment bodies for nine different product groups will be brought together into a single general act. The reform clarifies the procedures by which bodies are approved and notified to EU authorities.
