A new Vehicles Act will be enacted in Finland to align national legislation with EU vehicle regulations. At the same time, market surveillance of vehicles will be enhanced by introducing a new administrative penalty payment.

Transferring vehicle technical regulations to Trafi
Powers to issue technical requirements for cars and their trailers will be transferred from the ministry to the Finnish Transport Safety Agency. At the same time, provisions concerning special transport and special transport permits will be clarified.
