Supervision of the EU deforestation regulation
A supervision and penalty system for the EU Deforestation Regulation will be introduced in Finland to prevent products causing deforestation from entering the market or being exported. The Finnish Food Authority will act as the principal supervisory authority, and substantial administrative penalty payments may be imposed for violations of the requirements.

Continued use of eastern rolling stock
Rolling stock complying with eastern standards could be used in domestic timber and chemical transport until the end of 2028. At the same time, safety supervision of new tramway and metro projects would be increased as early as the design phase.

Enhancing forest damage prevention
The prevention of forest damage will be enhanced by expanding root rot control obligations and bringing forward the deadlines for removing timber from forests. At the same time, the responsibilities of timber buyers and forestry operators regarding timber storage and self-monitoring will be clarified.

Improving access to forest data
Users will be able to search for data on jointly owned forests and forestry directly from online services more easily than at present. At the same time, individuals' address details will be protected and people will be able to prohibit the use of their data for direct marketing.
