Expanding Defence Forces crime prevention powers
Defence Command will be tasked with the prevention and detection of military offences and granted powers to independently use secret intelligence gathering methods. At the same time, crime prevention powers will be clarified and their external oversight strengthened.

Enhancing military offence investigations
The Defence Command of the Finnish Defence Forces and the police will be granted the right to initiate pre-trial investigations of military offences independently, without an order from a unit's disciplinary superior. In addition, the Finnish Defence Forces will be granted the right to receive executive assistance for criminal investigations from the police, the Finnish Border Guard and Finnish Customs.
