An area of 198 hectares along the Suomujoki river will be incorporated into Urho Kekkonen National Park and an area of 9.3 hectares at Tankavaara will be removed from it. The change will enable the development of the Tankavaara visitor centre for tourism purposes while increasing the total surface area of the national park.
