Finland will introduce the new programming period of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund for 2021–2027. The fund supports commercial fishing, aquaculture, fish processing and maritime policy.

Updating animal disease rules and compensation
State compensation paid for combating animal diseases will be aligned with EU State aid rules, and the powers of authorities to prevent illegal imports will be enhanced. At the same time, requirements concerning the storage of equine semen and cross-border transport of reindeer will be eased.
