Joutoalueiden metsitystuki otetaan uudelleen käyttöön vuosiksi 2027–2029 metsäpinta-alan ja hiilinielujen kasvattamiseksi. Yksityiset maanomistajat voivat hakea valtion tukea esimerkiksi viljelystä poistuneiden peltojen tai entisten turvetuotantoalueiden istuttamiseen metsäksi.

Ending wasteland afforestation subsidies
Applications for wasteland afforestation subsidies will close at the end of 2023, and no new subsidies will be granted after June 2024. However, the disbursement of previously granted subsidies and afforestation obligations will be secured until 2038.
