Eduskunnan päätöksen mukaisesti säädetään
1 §Kansallispuiston perustaminen
Itä-Lapin vaaramaiseman, siihen kuuluvien metsien, soiden ja harjujen ja niillä esiintyvien eliölajien suojelemiseksi sekä yleistä virkistys- ja retkeilykäyttöä, luonnonharrastusta, tutkimusta ja opetusta varten on luonnonsuojelulain (1096/1996) mukainen Sallan kansallispuisto.
2 §Sijainti ja rajat
Sallan kansallispuistoon kuuluu noin 9 983 hehtaaria valtion omistamia alueita, jotka sijaitsevat Sallan kunnassa. Alueen rajat on merkitty punaisella viivalla liitteissä 1 ja 2 oleviin karttoihin.
3 §Rauhoitussäännökset
Kansallispuistossa kielletyistä toiminnoista säädetään luonnonsuojelulain 13 §:ssä ja rauhoitussäännöksiä koskevista poikkeuksista mainitun lain 14 ja 15 §:ssä.
Niillä, joiden kotikunta on Sallan kunta, on oikeus metsästää Sallan kansallispuistossa metsästyslain (615/1993) 8 §:n nojalla luonnonsuojelulain 13 §:n estämättä. Luonnonsuojelulain 15 §:n 1 momentin 3 kohdan nojalla sallittavaan riistaeläinlajien yksilön poistamiseen on lisäksi oikeus kansallispuistossa toimivan paliskunnan osakkailla ja Suomen riistakeskuksen tähän tarkoitukseen erikseen nimeämillä henkilöillä kotikunnasta riippumatta.
Lain voimaantullessa rekisteröitynä olevan metsästysseuran jäsenellä on oikeus metsästää hirveä kansallispuiston alueella, jos kansallispuisto sisältyy metsästysseuran metsästysalueeseen.
Poiketen siitä, mitä 2 ja 3 momentissa säädetään, kansallispuistossa ei saa hirven ajoa lukuun ottamatta metsästää sillä alueella, joka on merkitty rasterilla liitteessä 1 olevaan karttaan.

Tämä laki tulee voimaan päivänä kuuta 20 .
