    Restricting logging during bird nesting season

    Obligations and restrictions will be added to the Forest Act and the Nature Conservation Act to safeguard bird nesting in forestry. Timber harvesting will be prohibited during the bird nesting season in lush deciduous-dominated forests, spruce mires and riparian forests, and trees important to birds must be retained during logging.

    Extending forest damage compensation

    The state may continue to compensate landowners for costs incurred in combating extensive forest damage and for tree growth losses until the end of 2027. In addition, exemptions from root rot control during felling can be made in exceptional situations, such as during shortages of control agents.

    Users will be able to search for data on jointly owned forests and forestry directly from online services more easily than at present. At the same time, individuals' address details will be protected and people will be able to prohibit the use of their data for direct marketing.
