Electronic platform for waste and side streams
An electronic data platform will be established in Finland to promote the recycling of waste and material flows. Companies and other waste holders will primarily have to seek private waste management services on the platform before they can use municipal secondary waste management services.

Raising the waste tax
The tax on waste delivered to landfill will increase from 55 euros to 70 euros per tonne from the beginning of 2016. At the same time, de-inking sludge generated in recovered paper recycling will become taxable if it is deposited in landfill.
