Updating animal disease compensation and restrictions
The Animal Diseases Act will be updated to comply with the EU's new state aid rules regarding compensation paid for animal diseases. The imposition of restriction zones to prevent the spread of disease will also be clarified, and operations will be made easier for laboratories researching animal diseases.

Temporary reduction in farm relief fees
Client fees for farm relief services and substitute assistance for farmers will be reduced for 2017. The change will make it easier for livestock farmers in financial distress to cope.
