Ending subsidies for new forest roads
The state will end support granted for the construction of new forest roads, but the basic improvement of existing roads will continue to be supported. In addition, an application for forestry support may be deferred to the following year or rejected if appropriations run out.

A new forestry support scheme
State subsidies for private forest owners would be reformed under a new seven-year incentive scheme. Support for seedling stand management could be applied for after the work is completed, and instead of ditching peatland forests, support would be provided for water protection and comprehensive planning.

Extending the forestry subsidy scheme
The validity of the forestry subsidy scheme will be extended by three years until the end of 2023. Private forest owners will be able to apply for government support for forest management and nature management projects without interruptions between subsidy periods.
