Finland will introduce a phone-based digital identity card and a European digital identity wallet application. The reform will make it possible to prove identity, manage digital permits and certificates, and provide official electronic signatures using a mobile device.

Introduction of a digital identity card
An official digital identity card functioning on a smartphone will be created for Finland, allowing individuals to prove their identity online and in face-to-face transactions. At the same time, electronic service tools will be introduced for foreign nationals and for individuals who do not use a smartphone.
