Clarifying and strengthening trade secret protection
A new Trade Secrets Act will be enacted in Finland, consolidating the protection of trade secrets into a single act and improving the remedies available to businesses to address the unauthorised use of secrets. At the same time, the act will protect the right to report wrongdoing and an employee's right to provide necessary information to a shop steward or employee representative.

Enabling conciliation in equality cases
People who have experienced discrimination based on sex will be able to resolve disputes amicably with the help of the Ombudsman for Equality without burdensome court proceedings. The National Non-Discrimination and Equality Tribunal will be able to confirm the settlement agreement directly as enforceable.

The right to self-determination and independent coping of persons with intellectual disabilities will be strengthened in special care. The use of restrictive measures will be reduced, and precise and specific conditions will be laid down for permissible restrictive measures.
