Strengthening Schengen information system cooperation
Legislation governing the police, the Finnish Border Guard and Finnish Customs is updated to reflect the EU's reformed Schengen Information System. The change provides authorities with new means to combat serious crime and enhances the enforcement of removals from the country as well as the protection of vulnerable persons.

Air passenger data for crime prevention
Airlines would be required to disclose their passenger data to the authorities for the prevention of terrorism and serious crime. The data would be processed by a joint passenger information unit of the police, Finnish Customs and the Finnish Border Guard.

Correcting police international data exchange rules
A technical error made in an earlier legislative amendment will be corrected in the Act on the Processing of Personal Data in Police Operations. A reference to the processing of data under the EU Prüm Decision in international police cooperation will be reinstated into the provision.
