Digitalising and clarifying occupational disease notifications
Doctors' obligation to notify the occupational safety and health authority will be restricted solely to occupational diseases, and notifications will be transmitted electronically via Kanta services. Reporting other work-related illnesses will become voluntary, and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health will receive research data centrally from Kela.

Continuing funding for occupational health training
State funding for specialist training in occupational health care will be extended temporarily for 2018–2019. The funding will ensure that a sufficient number of new occupational physicians graduate and safeguard the quality of training.

Reforming the carcinogen exposure register
Legislation on the registration of employees exposed to carcinogenic and mutagenic substances at work will be reformed. Employers will report data on exposed employees and substances used directly to the ASA register maintained by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.

Permanent funding for occupational physician training
State funding for specialist training in occupational health care will be made permanent. The state will continue to reimburse the costs of doctors' specialist training to the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, universities and occupational health service providers.
