Banning greenwashing and right to repair
Misleading environmental marketing by companies will face stricter intervention, and consumers must be provided with clearer information than before on product durability and repairability. In addition, manufacturers of certain devices, such as household appliances and smartphones, will be obligated to offer repair services and spare parts at a reasonable price.

Demonstrating the sustainability of low-carbon fuels
Finland will introduce a system allowing companies to demonstrate the sustainability of low-carbon fuels and hydrogen as well as greenhouse gas emission reductions of at least 70 per cent. The change will also enable these fuels to be verified as zero-emission in emissions trading.

Accelerating green transition permits and appeals
Investment projects that promote the green transition and renewable energy will temporarily be given priority in the processing of environmental permits and appeal processes. The measure will accelerate the implementation of clean technology and energy projects.

Supervision and penalties for green bonds
The Financial Supervisory Authority will receive powers to supervise issuers of green bonds complying with the EU standard and to impose penalty payments for infringements. The reform clarifies disclosure obligations for bonds emphasising environmental impacts and prevents greenwashing.
