Expanding the use of learner IDs
The use of the learner ID will be expanded so that it can be used as a general identifier in all early childhood education and care and teaching activities instead of the personal identity code. At the same time, the study attainments and qualifications of the European School of Helsinki will be incorporated into the national data repository for education.

Extending distance learning in comprehensive schools
Comprehensive schools will be able to switch partially or entirely to distance learning if necessary due to a serious coronavirus situation during the upcoming school year as well. However, the youngest pupils and those in need of special support will continue in contact teaching.

Enabling remote learning in basic education
Schools can switch to partial or full remote teaching if necessary to prevent coronavirus infections. The youngest pupils and children in need of special support will nevertheless be kept in contact teaching.
