Rapid call-up of border reservists
Reservists of the Finnish Border Guard could be called up for refresher training on an expedited schedule to ensure border security as well. The call-up could be issued without the usual three-month notice period if the border situation changes abruptly.

Transferring call-up health examinations
Advance health examinations for call-ups and physician arrangements will be transferred from municipalities to wellbeing services counties. At the same time, paternity leave for conscripts will be updated to parental leave in line with the family leave reform.

Streamlining military and non-military service
Conscripts will have to begin their military service no later than the year in which they turn 29. At the same time, call-ups will be streamlined and repeated call-up orders will be abolished in cases where a court has dismissed charges of refusal to perform service.

Reservists could be called up for refresher training without a three-month notice period if military readiness needs to be raised abruptly. At the same time, the statutory maximum numbers of refresher training days would be doubled.
