Extending demonstration notification period to 24 hours
Public meetings and demonstrations organised outdoors must in future be notified to the police at least 24 hours before they begin, instead of the current six hours. Spontaneous demonstrations can still be organised at shorter notice if they do not cause unreasonable inconvenience.

Improving safety and cooperation at sports events
Finland will adopt a new international convention on safety, security and services at sports events. At the same time, requirements for joint safety plans and exercises between the authorities and event organisers will be added to the Assembly Act.
