Exemptions from building energy inspections
Provisions will be added to the act on when certain buildings are exempt from mandatory energy efficiency inspections of heating and air-conditioning systems. The amendment supplements the implementation of an EU directive and concludes the infringement procedure concerning Finland.

Abolishing mandatory district heating in local plans
Municipalities will no longer be able to require new buildings to connect to the district heating network in local detailed plans. Property owners and builders will be free to choose the heating method for their buildings.

Electric vehicle charging points or readiness for them will have to be installed in new and majorly renovated buildings. In addition, building automation and control systems must be installed in large non-residential buildings to improve energy efficiency.
