Easing rules for property officials
Qualification requirements for municipal real estate engineers will be broadened and the maximum age for serving as an attesting notary will be raised to 70 years. The changes will make recruitment easier for municipalities and allow attesting notaries to serve for a longer period.

Reforming eastern border fence compensation
Compensation paid to landowners for permanent barriers and the barrier fence in the border zone will be decided by an expropriation committee of the National Land Survey of Finland instead of the Finnish Border Guard. The change will speed up and harmonise the assessment of compensation by drawing on the real estate expertise of the National Land Survey of Finland.

Extending housing companies' transition deadline
The deadline for housing companies established before 2019 to transfer their lists of shares to the residential and commercial property information system will be extended by one year. At the same time, rules on mutual real estate companies joining the system will be clarified.

Automatic transfer of transfer tax data
Property buyers will no longer need to submit a separate receipt for payment of transfer tax when applying for title registration. The National Land Survey of Finland will receive information on the payment of the tax directly from the Finnish Tax Administration via automated data transfer.
