Streamlining permits for genetically modified trials
Permit procedures for trials and products involving genetically modified organisms will be reformed and accelerated in line with EU regulation. The public consultation period for field trials will be halved, and consultations may be waived entirely in cases of urgent medical treatment.

Restricting cultivation of genetically modified crops
Finland will be able to prohibit or restrict the cultivation of genetically modified crops in its territory, even if a crop has EU-level approval. Decisions on cultivation bans will be made by the Government.
