Tightening conditions for family reunification
Conditions for family reunification will be tightened by setting an age limit of 21 years for residence permits for spouses and requiring beneficiaries of international protection to have resided in Finland for two years before bringing their family to the country. In addition, secured means of support will, as a rule, be required for the entry of a guardian of a minor who has received subsidiary protection.

Raising ASP loans and age limits
The upper age limit for starting ASP saving will rise to 44 years, and people buying a home together can receive an ASP interest-subsidy loan that is 50 per cent larger than for a single buyer. At the same time, the maximum state guarantee for owner-occupied housing loans will be raised to 60,000 euros.

Facilitating employment for diplomats' family members
Family members of staff at the diplomatic missions of Finland, South Africa and India will be able to engage in gainful employment in their host country without giving up their diplomatic status. A work permit will be granted without a labour market test, and employment will be subject to the host country's laws as well as its tax and social security system.

Increasing special compensation for foreign service spouses
The special compensation paid to spouses of officials working in the foreign service will be increased. The compensation supplements a spouse's pension security when their own earning opportunities have been weakened due to postings abroad.

Facilitating employment for diplomats' families
Family members of diplomats will be enabled to engage in gainful employment in the host country without losing their diplomatic status. The arrangement applies reciprocally to Finland as well as Argentina, Brazil, Israel, Serbia and Vietnam.
