Reforming residential tenancy rules
Legislation on residential and commercial leases will be reformed to clarify lease relationships and reduce disputes. The changes will facilitate electronic communication, shorten the landlord's notice period, and introduce new rules on, among other things, the return of deposits and smoking.

Making it easier to dismiss employees
Dismissing an employee on personal grounds will become easier, as an objective reason will suffice for termination instead of the previous proper and weighty reason. At the same time, the employer's obligation to offer alternative work before dismissal will be restricted.

Forced marriage annulment and child marriage restrictions
A marriage entered into under duress could be dissolved by annulment, returning the person's marital status to what it was prior to the marriage. In addition, marriages entered into abroad while a minor would be recognised in Finland only in exceptional cases if one of the spouses was living in Finland when the marriage was entered into.
