Permitting wolf hunting
The year-round protection of wolves will be discontinued, and wolf hunting will be permitted during a defined hunting season. Quotas can be set or hunting licences issued for hunting without strict derogation procedures.

Enabling management hunting of large carnivores
The Hunting Act will be amended so that population management hunting of bears, wolves and lynxes can once again be permitted in Finland. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will be able to define regional objectives for derogation permits and reference values for favourable conservation status by decree.

Reforming compensation for predator damage
Damage caused by large carnivores to domestic animals, dogs, crops and other movable property will be compensated in full. At the same time, the increased additional compensation paid for exceptionally large reindeer damage will be abolished and reporting requirements for reindeer damage will be tightened.

Raising the game management fee
The annual game management fee for hunters will rise from 33 euros to 39 euros. The additional revenue will strengthen the operations of game management associations, support habitat management and prevent damage caused by large carnivores.
