Strengthening competition enforcement and sanctions
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) will receive broader powers to investigate competition infringements, impose remedies and engage in cross-border cooperation with other EU member states. Penalty payments may also be imposed on companies for breaching investigative procedures and failing to comply with decisions.

Temporarily extending merger review deadlines
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) will be granted additional time to investigate extensive mergers during the coronavirus epidemic. The processing deadline for mergers proceeding to further investigation will be extended by about one month.

Fees for health and social data
The Social and Health Data Permit Authority will be able to charge a fee for the extraction and processing of datasets related to data requests. At the same time, controllers providing data will receive compensation for their delivery costs.

Simplifying official documents in the EU
The use of certain public documents, such as population register extracts or criminal records extracts, in other EU countries would become easier without a separate certificate of authenticity. Documents could be accompanied by a multilingual standard form, meaning that separate official translations would usually no longer be needed.
