Updating plant pest state aid rules
References in the Plant Health Act will be updated to correspond to the European Union's revised state aid rules. The amendment will ensure that agricultural and forestry operators can continue to receive state compensation for costs and damage caused by the eradication of plant pests.

Easing pest control requirements for farmers
Farmers who have completed a plant protection qualification will be permitted to use professional pest control products without a separate pest controller qualification. In addition, using chemicals in breach of EU authorisation terms will be made punishable.
