    Clarifying child citizenship and residence rules

    Children of a Finnish parent and children adopted to Finland will obtain Finnish citizenship automatically by operation of law without a separate declaration procedure. In addition, the rules for calculating the required period of residence and permitted trips abroad for a citizenship application will be simplified.

    The minimum sickness and parental allowances, rehabilitation allowances and the guarantee pension will be increased, and the annual ceiling on medicine expenses will be lowered.
