    Transferring building exemptions to municipalities

    The authority to grant exemption permits for building and shoreline construction will be transferred entirely from the ELY Centres (Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment) to municipalities. In addition, office and commercial premises can be converted into housing using regional exemption permits more easily than before.
