The Consumer Protection Act will be tightened by bringing interest-free and fee-free credit under regulation as well and by making it easier to withdraw from online contracts. If a creditor neglects the obligation to assess an applicant's ability to pay, the consumer will not have to pay interest or fees on the loan.

Updating consumer advisory reference for Åland
The Act on the Autonomy of Åland will be updated due to the nationwide transfer of consumer advisory duties. The act will refer to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (KKV) instead of the local register office.
