Cutting vocational education and culture funding
Central government funding for initial vocational education and training as well as for museums, theatres and orchestras will be cut from 2017 onwards. In addition, reductions in holiday bonuses and employer contributions under the Competitiveness Pact will be taken into account in central government transfers for the education and culture sector.

Reforming performing arts funding
The central government transfer system for the performing arts will be reformed and expanded to cover all forms of live performing arts in addition to theatres and orchestras. Operators will be able to qualify for funding either indefinitely or for a fixed term of three years.

Index adjustments to central government transfers for educational and cultural provision and liberal adult education will be frozen for 2018 as part of central government spending cuts. The savings will be made permanent, and no adjustments corresponding to increases in cost levels will be made to funding.
