More effective child maintenance reviews
Kela will notify wellbeing services counties if a liable parent's income has changed substantially while maintenance support is being paid. Based on the notifications, wellbeing services counties will take action to increase or reduce the amount of child maintenance.

Extending social security to same-sex couples
The social security and parental daily allowance systems will be made gender-neutral. Same-sex married and cohabiting couples will be treated on the same grounds for benefits as opposite-sex couples.

Increasing basic security and family benefits
Basic social security benefits, such as minimum sickness and parental allowances as well as unemployment security, will be increased by 20 euros per month from the start of 2020. In addition, child benefit for single parents and large families, child maintenance allowance and single parents' social assistance will be raised.

Abolishing index increases to child benefit
Automatic index increases tracking price rises will be removed from child benefit. At the same time, the deadline for Kela to submit benefit calculations to the ministry will be extended.
