Earned income and commuting tax relief
An index adjustment corresponding to the rise in earnings levels will be made to the earned income tax criteria for 2021 to prevent the taxation of earned income from tightening with inflation. At the same time, taxation on low-emission company cars, public transport tickets, and company bicycles will be eased.

Reforming criteria for athlete pensions
Income limits for supplementary athlete pensions can be derogated from in the case of exceptionally successful Olympic and Paralympic winners. In addition, a previously granted partial pension can be increased to a full pension if an athlete's livelihood permanently deteriorates.

Voluntary VAT liability for performers
Performing artists, athletes and booking agencies will be able to opt voluntarily into liability for value added tax (VAT). This will enable them to deduct the VAT paid on purchases made for their activities.

Reforming athletes' pension and accident coverage
The upper age limit for the obligation to insure professional athletes will rise from 43 to 65 years, and the old-age pension age will be linked to the general earnings-related pension age. At the same time, overlapping sickness allowance and accident compensation for farmers will be curtailed.
