Banning Tana salmon fishing in 2023
Salmon fishing and the use of salmon fishing gear will be prohibited in the Tana River water system until the end of 2023. The temporary ban aims to halt the decline of salmon stocks and create conditions for their recovery.

Travel agencies and other travel organisers will not be charged supervisory and insolvency protection fees for 2021. The change will support the financial situation of businesses in the sector that have suffered from coronavirus restrictions.

Amending Punkaharju nature reserve boundaries
The site of the former Finlandia hotel and a parking area will be separated from the Punkaharju nature reserve so that they can be used for tourism. At the same time, around 115 hectares of new water and island areas from Lake Puruvesi will be incorporated into the reserve.

Travel bankruptcy compensation for cancelled trips
The state can compensate passengers for payments for trips cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic and received travel vouchers if a tour operator goes bankrupt. Compensation will be paid when claims cannot be covered by the tour operator's securities.

Reforming and expanding traveller protection
The new act will replace the Package Travel Act and extend travellers' rights to cover combinations of travel services assembled online and separately. At the same time, the rules on cancelling trips, limits on price increases, and compensation in cases of non-conformity will be clarified.
