The maximum amount of compensation paid under pay security will rise from 15,200 euros to 19,000 euros per employee. The increase will improve employee protection in situations where an employer faces bankruptcy or other insolvency.

Centralising pay security and unemployment guidance
The processing of pay security matters and guidance on the implementation of unemployment security will be centralised nationwide at the Uusimaa ELY Centre (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment). At the same time, the post of unemployment security ombudsman will be abolished to streamline administration.
