Tightening requirements for citizenship

Clarifying child citizenship and residence rules
Children of a Finnish parent and children adopted to Finland will obtain Finnish citizenship automatically by operation of law without a separate declaration procedure. Reforming and standardising disability services
Services for persons with various disabilities will be brought together under a new act on disability services, basing access to services on individual need for assistance rather than a medical diagnosis. Combining and reforming disability services

Introducing residence requirements for asylum seekers
An asylum seeker could be ordered to reside at a designated reception centre and report there regularly. For an unaccompanied child aged 15 or over, a residence requirement within the reception centre grounds would serve as a less severe alternative to detention prior to removal from the country.
